Well designed platforms that are light and strong. Will not rust or rot and are generally unaffected by chlorine and other pool chemicals, mats are easily replaced and platforms custom made at a very reasonable cost.
Over the last 3 years we have been developing and manufacturing swimming pool platforms.
Problems Encountered
- Inadequate infrastructure
Lengths of pipe between fittings too long with too many holes.
- Mesh
- Mesh ripping on some units around clips used to attach mesh to pipe.
- Units being dragged along abrasive surfaces where mesh folds around pipe. eg Dragging along concrete will cause abrasion and ultimate ripping of mesh.
- Chemicals
Over a period of time chemicals may have an adverse effect on parts and pipe.
Solutions
- More fittings used, spread closer together to make a solid frame. Most of the additional infrastructure is below the level of the mesh, so it does not interfere with the surface the kids stand on. The holes are closer to the fittings (strongpoints) and not in the middle of the pipe.
- Mesh
- A denser mesh or mesh reinforced around edges where it is attached to frame.
- Nylon clips that fit over both mesh and pipe and protect both from contact with abrasive surfaces.
- Improved infrastructure and mesh density will help overcome any problems that may occur due to chemical action.
Product Information
P.V.C. is neutral and is unaffected by acidity or alkalinity. Bayplas/Polycane pool platforms are made of furniture pipe and fittings that have high levels of U.V. inhibitors, acrylic impact modifiers and titanium oxide. The high levels of U.V. inhibitors (7 times that of downpipe) stop the product going brittle while the acrylic impact modifiers and titanium oxide slow down the migration of the inhibitors allowing frame and fittings to stay supple. The mesh is made of polyester woven fabric with a P.V.C. coating. The polyester gives the fabric strength while the coating protects it from the suns rays. The frames will not rust, rot or contaminate pool water. They are light to handle, have no sharp edges and are easily repaired. No glue is used as frames are riveted together and mesh is clipped on. Custom made to any size and height with hand rails if required. Can be sent made up ready to go or as a kitset. We manufacture and market the product ourselves enabling you to make big savings.
